What are the common pan tilt failures?

1.The code transfer light does not flash
 
Software settings (the light does not flash, mainly because the code converter is not working, start with the software settings to solve this problem)
 
1.1 Decoder settings in the software (decoder protocol, COM port, baud rate, parity bit, data bit, stop bit)
 
1.2. Replace a COM port (check whether the COM port is damaged),
 
If the hardware still cannot be used normally after the above settings, open the 9pin to 25P converter interface. Check whether the wiring is 2-2, 3-3, 5-7. If correct, check whether the power supply of the code converter is normal (you can use a multimeter to test the voltage and current (9V, 500MA)). If there is no problem, it can be judged that the code converter has been damaged.
 

  1. Unable to control the decoder

There is no relay sound in the decoder.
2.1. Check whether the decoder is powered;
2.2 Check whether the code converter is unplugged to output 485 signal;
2.3 Check whether the decoder protocol is set correctly;
2.4 Check whether the baud rate setting is consistent with the decoder (check whether the address code setting is consistent with the selected camera (see the decoder manual for detailed address code dialing table);
2.5 Check whether the wiring between the decoder and the code converter is wrong (1-485A, 2-B; some decoders are 1-485B, 2-A);
2.6 Check whether the decoder is working normally (the old decoder is powered on after one minute of power-off, and whether there is a self-check sound; when the software controls pan tilt, there will be voltage changes between the UP, DOWN, AUTO and other ports of the decoder and the PTCOM port. The situation depends on the decoder (24V or 220V, some decoder ports will have switching signal changes), if so, the decoder is working normally, otherwise the decoder is faulty;
2.7 Check whether the decoder's fuse is burned out.
 
3. Unable to control the pan tilt
3.1 Check whether the sixth item above is normal
3.2. Is the decoder’s 24V or 220V power supply port voltage output normal?
3.3 Directly supply power to the UP, DOWN, and PTCOM lines of the gimbal and check whether the pan tilt can work normally.
3.4 Check whether the power supply interface is connected correctly
3.5. Check whether the circuit is connected correctly (the old decoder uses UP, DOWN and other lines and PTCOM to directly power the pan tilt, and each line is directly connected to the camera and pan tilt lines; some decoders have independent power supply interfaces
 
4. Unable to use
 
4.1The interface cannot be operated (cannot be clicked or there is no response when clicking)
 
1) Follow the above steps to check the code transfer
 
2) Install the corresponding pan tilt control patch program
 
3) Notify suppliers
 
4.2. When you click the code switch light, or there is a relay sound in the decoder, but some functions cannot be controlled.
 
1) Check whether the uncontrollable functional parts are wired correctly.
 
2) Whether the pan tilt, lens and other device are in good condition.
 
3) Whether the voltage of the decoder function port and the switch output are normal.
 
4.3. The pan tilt moves abnormally during control.
 
If the rotation cannot be stopped, first test the port separately (power on the port directly for control). If normal, check whether the port corresponding to the decoder is working properly.
5. Video mosaic generation

In addition to the above-mentioned problems, there are also some relatively easy faults in the pan tilt. For example, the pan tilt is sometimes normal and sometimes not. Most of the pan tilts are installed incorrectly (such as a formal installation instead of a hoisted one), causing the pan tilt to fail. If it does not work properly, it may cause damage to the pan tilt after long time operation. Another problem is interference. The common phenomenon is that the pan tilt keeps moving to the left or right, or the pan tilt will rotate on its own without control. This is due to the attenuation and interference of the transmission signal.
